Dance Dimensions

Good Morning....

I will be at the Dazzling Diva Dance camp at Dance Dimensions today for story time. I am really nervous to read because this will only be my second time to read aloud to kids and it can be a little nerve racking. I am excited though because this is a great opportunity to get the word out about my book and to let the girls hear the story so they will tell their parents about it. We are having story time three time today first at 10:45 am , then 3:45 pm and again at 5:30 pm.

Thank you so much to Koni and Brandi at Dance Dimensions for this wonderful opportunity and privilege to read at your camp. I also want to Thank you for allowing me to have a book signing on Thursday at the camp.

Hello!

I just wanted to check in to see how things are going this week for everyone. Storytime went really well last week and was alot of fun. Thank you to the Lindale Public Library!

My next event is the last week of July, I will be doing storytime at Dance Dimensions for two days. Can't wait it should be fun.

Hello to everyone!

Come join me for storytime at the Lindale Public Library. They have asked me to read my book at storytime today. After we read the book the kids will do a craft. It's lots of fun and the Lindale Library is awsome and very kid friendly!!!

Good Morning!!!!

First of all, it is way too early to be up!!!! Now that is out of the way I just have to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the people who have joined my fan page on facebook. Last night I checked the page and my book had 66 fans! I am shocked and amazed at the support that I have received and I am very grateful for all of it.

My First Book Signing:)

HI Again!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that LIL' BUCKAROO'S in Mineola (across street form Brookshires) has so graciously allowed me to set up in front of her shop for a book signing and some refreshments. The event is on June 27th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

My wonderful publisher is setting up a Facebook Fan page for my book. As soon as it is ready I will let you know. It's crazy don't you think?? Me Shawna having a FAN PAGE! God works in weird and marvelous ways that can't be understood by the human race. You know what...I am so glad that I don't understand all he does because that means he is all powerful and all knowing. I am glad I don't need or have to worry about my life because as long as I am seeking God and allowing him to guide me down his path everything is A OK!!!!!

That Puppy Dog Took My Boots!

Hello to all--

I know what you are thinking.....it's been a really long time since your last post! I have been busy people:)

I do have some news to share with everyone. My book That Puppy Dog Took My Boots has now gone to print and will be ready for the public in mid-September. I do have a little secret for you. I was able to order some copies of my book in advance and should have them in about three weeks. I will have them for sale as long as they last!!! I really need your support because I would love to continue to publish books but I have to sell 5,000 copies of this first one before my publisher will consider publishing my second. My publisher should be sending me the image of the cover and a link to their website. For those of you who don't live close enough to come get one you will be able to click on my link and it will take you to my book on my publishers website. If you don't live close and you would like it signed please feel free to email me to find out if I will be at a book store near you for a book signing.

I do need and want to Thank everyone that has been involved with this process!!! Everyone who has supported and encouraged me through out this past year. All the hard work has paid off!!!!

Thanksgiving

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We went to Marshall, TX to visit with my Dad and his family. We had a really good time but we were really tired when we arrived home. On Friday morning my Mom and me went to Wal-Mart shopping at 4:00 am. I know what you are thinking they are crazy well your right but I did have fun and I got all the things I needed.

Last Thursday I received an email telling me that I needed to resubmit my manuscript to the production dept. but this time I needed to go through their guidelines to make sure the font and text type and grammar are correct. I also had to write a bio and teaser for the book. A teaser is the information on the back of the book that tells you about the book. Kaci helped me by checking the manuscript for grammar errors and helping me write my bio. Debby,Kaci and Kevin also helped me to write my teaser for the book. Thank you to them because I was having a hard time writing those things. I submitted my corrected manuscript,teaser and bio this morning at 10:30 am. I should receive an email some time this week letting me know when I am assigned an editor.

Tate Publishing Contract

Hello to everyone:)

I am so excited to report that I received my contract yesterday and will be ready to mail it back by the end of today. Once they receive my money and contract the ball will be rolling. How exciting is that!!!! I did ask about how long it would take and was surprised at the length of time but that's OK. Stacy my rep. said the book will go to editing the first of the year, then it will take about 5 months to create the book, after that it is about 90 days before it goes to press. So will are looking at about a year but it could be earlier just depending on circumstances during the year. I can't wait to share my book with all of you!

My Book is being Published!!!

For those of you who don't know I wrote a children's book a couple of months ago. I with the help of my wonderful father-in-law found Tate Publishing a Christian company. I sent in my manuscript 6 weeks ago and patiently waited on an answer. Yesterday at 3:00 pm a representative from the publishing company called me to let me know that they were going to except my manuscript and publish my book. I am so excited I could hardly sleep last night. As soon as I know more information I will let you know. I do want to first and foremost Thank God for the opportunity and then I would like to Thank my family and friends for believing in me.

Another piece of furniture finished

This is the second piece of Terry's furniture that I have finished. I am really excited because it looks really good especially when I put it in the boys room and decorated. I can't wait to finish the last piece and get all three pieces into their room. After that I think I am going to redo the boys book self in red.

Terry Lynn's Furniture

I have started to refinish a dresser and two night stands that were Terry's (my favorite father-in-law) when he was younger. I am pretty sure Debby said that Terry's mother bought them for him sometime before Debby and Terry got married. I just finished the dresser and started working on the two night stands. I wanted to share with all of you my finished project. I am really proud of the way it turn out. These pieces will eventually go in the boys room. Teddy Jo gave us a set of bunk beds so I am going to refinish them and they will also go into the boys room. Hope you enjoy looking at my new dresser:)

My very sick little boy!!

First and foremost Austin is doing much better and Kevin and I thank you for all your prayers. For those of you who haven't heard, Austin has been running a fever for the last 4 days. On Thursday night he woke up at 2:30 am running a really high fever of 105.9. We were able to get it down and took him to the doctor on Friday. His fever was a result of a virus and hopefully he will be completely fever free soon.

First Day of Pre-School

Adam's first day of Pre-school was September 2, 2008. He will go to school Tuesdays through Thursdays from 12:15 pm-2:45 pm. On Fridays he goes to Kid's Day Out from 8:30 am-2:45 pm. He was so excited the first day he didn't even want to kiss me bye. I wanted to cry but I didn't I held it in and watched my little boy run off into the classroom. When I picked him up he got in the car and said "I LOVE THIS SCHOOL, CAN I COME BACK?" I absolutely love the fact that he is so energetic about going and learning. He also loves to come home and tell us all about what he did and that he met new friends! I know this is only the beginning of his schooling but for right now he is loving school.
